The nation of Israel are also called the Hebrews , the ivriyim(עבריים) ..just like Abraham(Avraham) was called " Avraham HaIvri".In hebrew עבר means "side" and Jews are mostly on the other side,we go against the flow ,when we are true to ourselves,authentic.
We were never made to fit in because you do not change the world when you fit in....when you "fit out"..you outfit the world with your change, your uniqueness and the change this nation of less than 1%(right now or that we know of) of the world's population has brought to the world in every sphere of life defies logic and resides in the miraculous..
This is true nationally and individually- in following the herd the unique you is never heard
