So many say and preach that we need challenges in order to grow, we need some pain and troubled times because that's how we grow.
Well I dont think it is so clear cut
What we need, I will leave to G-d to decide but if G-d decides that we need challenges we can surely choose to use them to grow, to unleash the strength and potential that G-d has given us
However I think that an equally if not more important opportunity to grow is when the things are going well...How?
Do we get complacent?
Do we choose to let ourselves go because it is going so good?
Do we choose to get addicted to distraction?
Are we just busy being busy or are we doing something important or of impact ?
Do we get lost in material pleasures and the fleeting.?
Do we look for instant gratification or meaningful elevation?
Do we see each day as a gift , try and make the most of good times by positive pouring our best into it?
Do we use the good times to express ,through our actions and deeds, the appreciation we have for life and the blessing within?
Do we ,within our context, try and help others?
Do we try and work on ourselves during good times?
Do we ,even during good times ,complain a lot or do we work at cherishing what we can in our lot?

There is a saying "When the going gets tough the tough get going"
I like " When the going is good, the good keep going"
