10 ways to connect with people
1.Listen actively as if they are the only important person in your world
2.Repeat what a person has shared with you to show you were listening
3.Before answering a person always start with" I hear you" whether you agree or not
4. Find an authentic empathy point even if you totally disagree.For example.."In that scenario I would feel that too"
5.Find a point of agreement ,no matter how small ,in actuality , potential and/or possibility
6. Describe, don't evaluate- focus on the deed etc not the person
7.Talk in terms of the other person's interests , wants ,needs etc.
8. Don't talk about you unless absolutely critical to an issue.
9.Recognize efforts etc ,with clear gratitude, made on the part of the person whether they worked out or not.
10.Never say no immediately always take a little time consider what a person has said even if you totally disagree.
