Parshat Re'eh
Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse.-Devarim 11:26(דברים יא כו-רְאֵ֗ה אָֽנֹכִ֛י נֹתֵ֥ן לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם בְּרָכָ֖ה וּקְלָלָֽה)
We know that whatever is written in the Torah was never only for that particular time but for every generation and that each letter ,each line in the Torah can be understood on many different levels.
Why does the verse mention "today"?It was not a once off thing but before us every day and dependent our fulfilling Hashem's commandments.
Why does the verse mention "today"?It was not a once off thing but before us every day and dependent our fulfilling Hashem's commandments.
So again Why "today"?
I would like to suggest that this is one of the most empowering verses in the Torah showing us that we are absolutely never stuck, we are never locked in ,we are never prisoner's of our past, we are never defined by the mistakes we have made, we are never too far gone etc
For each new day G-d gifts us in a majestic manner of ultimate validation with a choice to take the road of blessing, the right road, the road of purpose, direction, meaning or the road that will immediately or eventually show it's curse, it's darkness,it's destruction.
A message of unbelievable hope, no matter what ,with each new we can day keep working ,learning etc so that we can identify the right road but if we have not and still are blessed with a new day we have the possibility to learn more , to do things differently and be a conduit of true blessing in this world, EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US-That is how important You are.
